The tenth “Learn About fair” was held on the 28th of June at the Open University (OU) whose aim was to showcase the best practices and projects for Learning and Teaching Innovation. The theme of this event was ‘Personalised Open Learning’ (POL) which integrated more than 30 stands from different areas and topics. The presenters described various ways that the OU is supporting innovation for learning and teaching. The Learn About fair received more than 150 attendees: course managers, associate lecturers, researchers, technologists, and some postgraduate students from various faculties.
Ale Okada, Nick Freear and Chris Edwards presented the EU-funded TeSLA project (An Adaptive Trust-based e-Assessment System for Learning, http://tesla-project.eu), whose Principal Investigator is Professor Denise Whitelock, and Pilot Leader is Wayne Holmes.
During the Learn About fair, Chris Edwards (Implementation coordinator) described biometric and document analysis instruments. Nick Freear (Technical coordinator) talked about the technology development for the next pilot study. Ale Okada (Evaluation coordinator) presented the educational pilot studies whose aim is to obtain the needs and expectations of students and their feedback about the system for Adaptive Trust-based e-Assessment supported by e-authentication.
Various Associate Lecturers found the project interesting to enhance quality assurance for online assessment. Visitors also shared interesting questions and comments about the variety of TeSLA instruments for e-authentication and anti-plagiarism checking. The Learn About fair was a very engaging and interactive event!
