Esther Huertas (AQU Catalunya), Anna E. Guerrero (UOC) and Xavier Baró (UOC) presented  TeSLA and the quality assurance (QA) aspects developed in the scope of the TeSLA project in the 11th INQAAHE Biennial Forum, which took place on 2-4 May 2018 in Mauritius (http://www.inqaahe2018mauritius.mu/presentation).

In particular, the 2018 forum theme was ‘Quality is in the Eye of the Beholder: Relevance, Credibility and International Visibility’. These forums are held every two years by the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) and aim to examine the fundamentals of quality in the educational domain and to strengthen the quality culture beyond national or regional boundaries.

INQAAHE (http://www.inqaahe.org/) is a worldwide association of organisations that are active in the theory and practice of quality assurance in higher education (HE). It was established in 1991 and nowadays it has more than 280 members. Its membership is composed of QA agencies, organizations with interest in QA in HE as well as individuals with interest in HE.

The main goal of this association is to promote quality in higher education by means of quality assurance agencies all over the globe. At the same time, it develops the theory and practice of QA, exchanges and understands policies and actions of its members, and promotes QA for the benefit of HE, its corresponding stakeholders and society in general.

In order to internationally support the policy and practice of QA, the network also looks after the value of collective wisdom, the importance of working in partnership and highlights the commonalities and fundamental principles among the diverse set of members. INQAAHE also believes in the academic freedom, institutional integrity and, at the same time, it is committed to the idea that quality and quality assurance are primarily the responsibility of HE institutions themselves.

Current Secretariat of INQAAHE is hosted by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency, AQU Catalunya.

The TeSLA presentation took place on May the 4th under the following topic ‘Academic Assessment and Trust in Online Provision: Quality Assurance Tools’. It included a description of the project and its main objectives, a live demo session of the system, and an introduction to the QA processes to assure the correct implementation of this e-assessment system developed within the project. This particular slot in the forum was a great opportunity to present the TeSLA project to the QA community and to introduce the authentication and authorship instruments that aim to contribute to the enhancement of educational quality in different forms of e-learning provisions. The presentation also put the stress on QA by introducing and describing in depth the bespoken assessment methodology developed by the three QA bodies who are taking part in the project (AQU Catalunya, ENQA and EQANIE).
